Letter: An excellent choice for our U.S. senator

I just read the letter by Mr. DiGiovanni. I agree with him 100%. The Herald isn't objective. Kathy Salvi is an excellent candidate. What has Casten, Durbin, Underwood, Duckworth and Democrats in general actually done in the last 18 months that have made our lives better? The answer is nothing.

Another bad economic report today and Biden talks about spending more money. For the most part that's what got us into this mess in the first place. That and his war on domestic energy, oil and natural gas.

"Ordinary" folks have worked hard their whole life to save for retirement and in just 18 months people's savings have taken a nose dive. I blame Biden, Durbin, Casten and all Democrats for taking it away with their idiotic policies that have given us the highest inflation in over 40 years, highest gas prices ever and predictions that they're going to go higher yet.

So, are you better off today than you were 18 months ago? I say it's a resounding no. It's seems that President Biden's policy has been to make the American people miserable. Everything he has done has just made things worse and worse.

You want green energy? Fine, plan for it. But just don't cut off your nose to spite your face. Finish the oil pipeline, the gas pipelines that were put on "hold" out east, actually let oil companies get the abundant oil and gas reserves that God has given this country, work at building a green infrastructure (it'll take a long time for that to happen) and get this country back on track. That'll be a start.

We need changes in Washington, D.C., and Illinois, not more Democrats.
