Jon J. Duerr bridge in South Elgin closed for repairs Oct. 31 to Nov. 4

The Jon J. Duerr Forest Preserve bridge, located between Scott Avenue and Silver Glen Road in South Elgin, will be closed for repairs, Oct. 31 to Nov. 4.

The Forest Preserve District of Kane County will be replacing the bridge decking.

here will be no public access through the Fox River Bend Trail, during this time.

Repairs will begin Monday, Oct. 31 and are expected to be completed on Friday, Nov. 4, pending weather conditions.

Signs will be placed on the trail to notify the public of the closure. The Forest Preserve District asks trail users to exercise caution and be mindful of the closure during this time.
