Letter: Yes, it is the Democrats' fault
I've seen several letters to the editor saying it is not President Biden's or the Democrats' fault for the way things are, but they are wrong. While I agree it is not 100% their fault, they are the main ones responsible.
One of the first actions they took was to reduce our fuel supplies by declaring war on fossil fuels, stopping a pipeline and further exploration on national lands. Per the law of supply and demand, when supplies are cut, prices go up.
They did this at about the same time that demand increased for fuel. This caused a double whammy of inflation. When fuel prices raise, this causes price increases in almost everything else, since most items require transportation.
Then they passed a relief bill that pumped billions of dollars into the economy, and this caused further inflation and the relief bill was not needed, since the economy was already on the road to recovery. This relief bill also extended unemployment benefits keeping workers at home, which helped continue the shortage crisis.
The invasion of Ukraine can partially be laid at the Democrats feet due to the lack of any real response from President Obama when Russia took Crimea and other Russian aggressions. While every president in office while we were in Afghanistan shares blame in that catastrophe, President Biden was in charge for the disastrous pullout, and he failed to listen to his military advisers.
The Democrats are weak on crime. At least initially, they jumped on the "defund the police" movement, and it is Democratic attorneys general who fail to prosecute alleged criminals, but have no problem prosecuting people who were obviously defending themselves.
Finally, President Biden is trying to buy votes with our tax money by forgiving student loan debt.
