BatFest returns to Batavia with pumpkin roll, trick-or-treating, costume contests
Batavia Mainstreet's annual BatFest is a non-scary way for families to celebrate Halloween.
This year's festival is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, in downtown Batavia. Admission is free, and details are available at downtownbatavia.com/event/batfest.
The day's highlights include:
• Downtown trick-or-treating, 10 a.m.-noon
• The final farmers market of the season, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
• Incredible Bats at Bocaditos Café, 11 N. Batavia Ave., 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
• Wazio Pumpkin Roll, on Houston Street, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., hosted by Boy Scout Troop 6
• Magician and balloon art at the Tea Tree, 29 N. River St., 10 a.m.-noon
• BatFest stories at Batavia Public Library Reading Garden, 11:30-11:50 a.m.
• Reptile show at Wilson Street Mercantile, 222 E. Wilson St., 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
• Batavia Mother's Club Halloween Parade, 11:50 a.m.
• Performances at Peg Bond Center, 151 N. Island Ave., 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
• Costume contest at Peg Bond, 12:15 p.m.
• Batavia Animal Clinic Pet Costume Contest at Peg Bond, 1 p.m.
