Aurora Downtown will host its annual Trick or Treat Downtown event from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29.

Costumes are encouraged, and all ages and abilities are welcome. Aurora Downtown, a group of downtown business and property owners, first hosted the event in 2015, and it has since become a family favorite.

"It's such a fun, lively event. We love to see the community's creativity every year," said Marissa Amoni, manager of Aurora Downtown.

The free event invites families to dress up and visit more than 40 participating locations in downtown Aurora. Small businesses, museums, and several restaurants will be open with treats.

The event coincides with Sugar Skull City, a downtown-wide Day of the Dead celebration, and visitors can view ofrendas, painted storefronts, and more.

Participants can pick up a map at Santori Public Library, 101 S. River St.; Aurora Regional Fire Museum, 53 N. Broadway; or the David L. Pierce Art and History Center, 20 E. Downer Place.

Locations will have orange paper pumpkins on their doors. The event is rain or shine.
