Buffalo Grove firefighters selling T-shirts, hoodies to support children battling illness

The Buffalo Grove Chapter of Project Fire Buddies is selling T-shirts and hoodies to raise funds now through Nov. 6.

Orders can be placed online at vbg.org/PFBshirts, and payments are accepted by cash or Venmo (@ProjectFireBuddies).

Shirts are available in adult sizes small through 3XL in red, royal blue, black and dark gray. Shirts are $20, and hoodies are $40 each.

"While we accept donations at any time, the shirt sales are a great opportunity for the community to promote the cause and raise awareness of our efforts," said firefighter and paramedic Mike Manka, who also serves as president for BG Fire Buddies.

Project Fire Buddies is a nonprofit organization created by firefighters looking to build relationships and support for families battling critical childhood illnesses. The BG Fire Buddies was formed earlier this year through a partnership between the Buffalo Grove Fire Department and the Buffalo Grove Professional Firefighters and Paramedics Local 3177.

The BG Fire Buddies are looking for a child to sponsor. Any families within the village who could benefit from the project are encouraged to visit projectfirebuddies.org to fill out a contact form.
