Letter: A close-up look at election security

Recently, I went to the Rolling Meadows Senior center for election judge training. I was curious to see how the election machines work and if they could be rigged.

Our trainer showed us how secure the machines are from start to finish. Tags, secured plastic straps and instructions on how to turn on the machines. Even on your breaks that day come November, the machine is secured.

The board of election people are doing their utmost to make sure the election goes smoothly and honestly.

So when people cry "foul," which they will do after the election, those will be crocodile tears. From what I could see, it looks secure.

I would say the other 49 states use secure measures also.

Hopefully the people whose candidates lost two years ago can feel that this, like the last election, is safe and secure.
