Q&A

Q: Describe your position regarding the balance between county spending and revenues as it exists today, then describe the chief threats you see looming in the future and how the county should deal with them.

A: DuPage needs to manage their revenues and expenses appropriately. We need to prioritize spending on public safety, health and human services. One threat I see is rising crime rate in the county. We can lower crime rates by making sure our police are supported and funded. We also need to hold criminals accountable for their wrong doings so they can learn from their mistakes. By doing this people will feel more safe and secure in their communities and homes.

Q: Is there a specific service or amenity that is lacking in the county? If so, how do you propose to provide and fund it?

A: Seeing that we have lost nearly 10% of law enforcement in the past decade we need to make sure we keep the police funded and criminals off the streets. I know a lot of people that agree with supporting the police. I could get others to donate and support this movement.

Q: Should the county board continue to start its regular board meetings with an invocation? Please say why or why not.

A: I believe the board should start their meetings with a prayer and to make sure all hearts are clear prior to the meeting. This nation was created and built by God and we need to give Him glory and praise. "One Nation Under God."

Q: Does there need to be more bipartisanship and cooperation on the county board? If yes, what would you do to help make that happen?

A: Yes, we need to normalize bringing people together regardless of their political beliefs. It is important to be able to listen, have compassion and if necessary agree to disagree while getting things in order. I am a strong mediator by the Grace of God. It is not about political parties, it is about helping people and making real progress in the county.

Q: If your political party has control of the county board after the November election, how would that benefit DuPage residents?

A: The candidates all agree on supporting the police and keeping them funded as well as holding those accountable that have committed crimes. It is important to arrest those that have done wrong in the eyes of the law not only for the safety of others but for the safety of themselves. They can't learning anything if we just let them go right away.

Q: The COVID pandemic put a spotlight on the need for mental health services. What role should the county play in this?

A: We can help direct those in need to Biblical based counseling/rehab services. Its best to get people in an appropriate program as opposed to giving them drugs right away.

Q: What is the single most important issue facing your district and how should the county address it?

A: Safety, seeing the rising crime rates is a shame. We need to back up our police and hold criminals accountable.
