Letter: Vote 'common sense'
We hear it all the time: we are a highly polarized country. We also hear that our very important November elections will be decided by the "middle," or independents. I would like to suggest a different label for this group of voters and that is "common sense voters."
Many people are longing for common-sense gun laws, common-sense climate and energy action, common-sense health care options and more. We expect our representatives at all levels of government to defend our commonly regarded values. That's why I support the reelection of Sean Casten for the 6th Congressional District. He leads with his commitment to our community's health, safety and productivity and with his common sense.
Among his many common-sense efforts, Casten has co-sponsored an assault weapon ban to protect our children and communities from gun violence; he has introduced legislation to lower carbon emissions and energy prices while creating new jobs to preserve our planet for future generations; and he has co-sponsored the Women's Health Protection Act to protect the right to abortion care throughout the country.
It is just common sense to vote for Sean Casten.
