Naperville testing outdoor warning sirens this week

Naperville's outdoor warning sirens will be tested this week.

Each siren will be activated individually throughout the week as part of routine maintenance. The testing, which city officials say should be completed by Friday, will occur between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Officials say residents should not be alarmed if they hear the sirens during periods of calm weather. The outdoor sirens are normally activated to alert people that a tornado warning has been issued for the Naperville area.
