Pet care franchise to open in Lindenhurst

LINDENHURST - Camp Bow Wow, the nation's largest pet care franchise, will open its first Lake County area location this month in Lindenhurst.

The Lindenhurst location, 2975 Sand Lake Road, will open Saturday, Oct. 15. It is owned and operated by April Heisler, who is turning her passion for animals into a career after 17 years of working in the corporate world.

The Camp, which has 16 employees, will offer all-inclusive care for dogs by providing a safe environment for all-day play, socialization and overnight stays. The 7,000-square-foot facility features six large indoor and outdoor play areas, 53 spacious cabins and luxury suites for overnight stays, live webcams so pet parents can check in on their dogs any time, and more.

"Our new Camp in Lindenhurst fills a gap in the community's pet care space with an innovative pet care model that provides the highest levels of safety, fun and enrichment for our four-legged Campers and peace of mind for their parents," Heisler said.
