Letter: Columnist gets it on student loans

Debra J. Saunders is spot on with her recent assessment of the Biden student loan forgiveness program. Ignoring that it is probably illegal and is being challenged in court, Biden's "justification" doesn't pass the smell test.

Using the excuse of COVID to rush through another costly giveaway to win a few votes is the reason. The long term impact will make college more expensive and students less responsible for their borrowing. Both colleges and students will be conditioned to rely on the Government for bailouts.

How many more times will this administration abuse the claim of a national emergency to ram through more spending programs?

And if it isn't COVID, they will manufacture another one. The Biden regime seems intent on keeping the population in a state of fear so it can ignore the Constitution and rule by Executive Order, versus the rule of law.
