American Legion Auxiliary Awards Scholarships to Local College Student

India Friar, a nursing student at College of Lake County, was awarded a scholarship from the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 281 in Waukegan. India also was awarded the Mildred R. Knoles Scholarship from the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Illinois for $1,000. Both of these scholarships will be used for tuition this fall semester at CLC.

India is in her final semester at CLC and will graduate this December with an associate degree.

She enjoys the learning experience and plans to further her studies to eventually become a midwife. She is in the process of deciding which university to attend next year in pursuit of her bachelor degree.

India said she is "so very appreciative of the American Legion Auxiliary for all their assistance. It really made a positive difference!"

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 281 of Waukegan congratulates India Friar on her achievements and wishes her the best in her future studies.
