Celebration planned for end of construction in downtown Naperville
The Downtown Naperville Alliance is planning a Progress in Progress Celebration to commemorate the end of construction in the area.
The free event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, and features family-friendly entertainment on Jefferson Avenue.
Activities will include a princess storytime, face painting, balloon artist, caricature artist and magician from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. From 1 to 3 p.m., there will be a stilt walker and juggler in addition to music from Motown Nation in the Riverwalk Lot.
"Let alone was the construction a beautification project, it also allowed for desperately needed replacement and repair of the underground infrastructure in our downtown," says Danielle Tufano, executive director of the Downtown Naperville Alliance.
Food from Allegory's $5 Food Truck will be available from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Dean's Clothing parking lot on Main Street.
