Aurora church to hold community hymn sing Sept. 18

A community hymn sing featuring vintage favorites will be held by Wesley United Methodist Church on Sunday, Sept. 18.

The event will be held at 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary, 14 N. May St. in Aurora. The public is invited to attend and submit requests.

Admission and parking are free. Freewill donations will be accepted.

The hymn sing is the third of three events celebrating a "Fall Kickoff" for church programs.

Thew Elliott, Wesley director of traditional worship, will lead the singalong. A vocalist and keyboardist, he has led hymn sings since age 13.

Elliott said, "We'll use the United Methodist hymnal and 'Faith We Sing' songbook.

"We'll honor all requests as we sing old favorites and revisit memories," Elliott said.
