Grammy Award winning duo to perform at Aurora's Fiestas Patrias

After a two-year hiatus, Fiestas Patrias Festival is returning to RiverEdge Park in downtown Aurora on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17-18.

The annual family-friendly festival, hosted by Aurora's Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board, will feature two days of food vendors, cultural activities, a free carnival, and a diverse lineup of musical entertainment.

Each day will be filled with local, regional, national, and international performing artists on the main stage.

Headlining Saturday night will be six-time Grammy-winning Cuban Reggaeton duo Gente De Zona, and Sunday night's closer is the popular Jalisco technobanda Banda Machos.

Daily admission to RiverEdge Park is $10 per person or free for children, age 11 or younger.

Tickets are available now at www.eventbrite.com/e/389512972787. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the park until all tickets are sold.

The free carnival will be held across the bridge from RiverEdge Park in City Lot W at 309 N. River St.

In addition, the adjacent Wilder Park Promenade, 350 N. River St., will have additional food vendors.

Proceeds from the fest will go toward scholarships that assist college-bound students of Hispanic American descent who reside in Aurora. Scholarships are administered through the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley.
