Elgin Vineyard hosts Holy Spirit Conference Sept. 9-10

Vineyard Church of Elgin is bringing in Ken Fish of Orbis Ministries to speak at a Holy Spirit Conference Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9-10, and at the Sunday service on Sept. 11.

Pastor Tom Severson is excited to have Fish lead this time of worship, teaching and ministry time.

"Ken is a powerful speaker on the need for the Church to be mighty in both Word and Spirit," Severson said, "in a day and age when our tendency is to be in one camp or the other."

Fish has a solid background in both business and ministry. With degrees from Princeton University, Fuller Theological Seminary and UCLA's Anderson Graduate School of Management, he has more than 25 years of experience as a senior executive with Fortune 500 corporations. Fish has served as an advisor to various political leaders, including senior political leaders in many countries.

Prior to his business career, Fish worked full-time at Vineyard Ministries International, researching and ghost-writing for the late John Wimber. He has traveled extensively as a conference speaker, teaching on topics ranging from leadership development and business formation to spiritual formation and church growth. Also a widely-regarded expert on prophecy and healing, he has appeared on The Eric Metaxas Show, Premier and the Charisma Media Network and has spoken at The International Association of Healing Rooms.

The conference is open to everyone. Admission is $25 at the door. Elgin Vineyard is located at 220 Division St.

On Sunday, the service begins at 10 a.m. Those who come early can grab a cup of coffee or tea, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
