Letter: What is the real story on IRS expansion?

Some people may think that fears that the IRS will target the middle class are "baseless," but there are only 614 billionaires in the United States and there will be 87,000 new IRS employees (141 agents per billionaire). Maybe they will be going after job-creating corporations to make sure that they are feeding the political machine their fair share of taxes rather than paying living wages to employees. Either way, it does not sound good for the middle class.

Just because Janet Yellen says they won't be targeting the middle class doesn't make it so. The 2021 annual expenditures of the IRS were $13.7 billion. They are being given an additional $80 billion, a 583% increase (how much was your wage increase this year compared to 8% inflation?).

There is something going on and we are not being told the full story.
