Brat Fest and Bags Tournament Sept. 10 in Wheeling

A nonprofit group called Wheeling Helping Hands will hold its second annual Brat Fest and Bags Tournament on Sept. 10.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at AMVETS Post No. 66, 700 McHenry Road.

There'll be a noon ceremony to commemorate the 9/11 attacks and then live music from the Redmonds.

Bratwurst, sauerkraut, German potato salad and treats will be for sale.

Proceeds will support the Wheeling police and fire departments' charitable activities, which include Toys for Toys, scholarships and the Special Olympics.
