Longtime Two River Heads Start executive director Diane Lacey dies at age 70

The board, staff, students and families at the Two Rivers Head Start Agency are devastated by the news that our executive director and friend Diane Lacey has passed away. The 70-year-old Algonquin resident served the Two Rivers Head Start Agency for well over 20 years, many of those as executive director.

Diane was everything an educator and public servant should be - kind, respectful, and always willing to listen and lend a hand. She loved working to support the students and families at Two Rivers Head Start, which has locations in Elgin and Aurora. Her commitment to the Two Rivers and to the entire Head Start community was exceeded only by her commitment and love for her friends and family.

Diane worked tirelessly to ensure that all students and their families received a high-quality education and had access to extracurricular activities such as art, music and social activities. Two Rivers Head Start Agency is immeasurably better because of Diane and her passing is a tremendous loss that will be felt throughout our community. Diane was well known and liked, and she will be greatly missed. Our deepest condolences to Diane's family.
