St. Charles Public Library to host local author Ramesh Shah Sept. 6

The St. Charles Public Library will host "Tomorrow will be a Better Day" with local author Ramesh Shah on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The talk will begin at 7 p.m. in the library's Huntley Community Room, 1 S. Sixth Ave.

Shah will share his experiences as an immigrant coming to the United States in 1967.

He will discuss the poverty of backstreet Bombay (now Mumbai) and the strong family bonds that make a young boy's life bearable.

Learn about arranged marriages and Eastern religion and how a father's words can inspire great achievement.

See America through the wide-eyed wonder of a young man experiencing, for the first time, things most westerners take for granted, such as a spring mattress, a hot shower, and fast-food restaurants.

The St. Charles resident is the chief quality officer at FONA International Inc. in Geneva, and a board member for Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley.
