History served with pie and ice cream

The Wauconda Township Historical Society will be hosting a free ice cream and pie social from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Andrew C. Cook House, 711 N. Main St., Wauconda. The event features children's games, kids tattoos, music and dancing and local business raffles. A cupcake wall and photo-opportunity screen are new this year. Scheduled docent-guided house tours will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The donation is $3 for adults. Kids participate for free. Visit waucondahistory.org or call (847) 526-9303.
