Lisle office building gains financing through energy program
LISLE - Owners of a Lisle office building will benefit from $1.8 million in financing for energy-efficiency improvements through the C-PACE financing program.
The Oak Brook-based Illinois Energy Conservation Authority, an Illinois nonprofit organization that administers the program, said the funding will help pay for HVAC, LED/high-efficiency lighting and water conservation improvements at the Westwood office building, 2441-2443 Warrenville Road.
Nuveen Green Capital, one of the nation's leading C-PACE capital providers, was selected to supply the capital, the IECA said.
"The DuPage County C-PACE program provides a way for business and local government to work together to reduce our collective carbon footprint and achieve our conservation goals. This deal will impact heating and cooling the property, water and electricity usage and cut greenhouse gas emissions significantly," DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin said in a news release.
Altogether, the improvements are expected to reduce the property's annual electricity consumption by 10,000 kilowatt-hours when compared with a typical baseline building performance model. Annual CO2-equivalent greenhouse gas emissions from electricity generation and natural gas consumption will be reduced by almost nine tons, IECA said.
Introduced in Illinois in 2019, C-PACE provides long-term, fixed-rate funding to private building owners for energy efficiency and other environmental improvement projects.
