Letter: Social security and inflation

Our politicians are constantly pontificating that the underserved and most vulnerable in our country are being hurt by abortion, immigration and racism.

With that in mind, I am confident that our local leaders including Senators Durbin and Duckworth and Representatives Krishnamoorthi, Casten and Underwood will make it their No. 1 priority to ensure that our senior citizens will see a 10% increase in Social Security benefits this coming year to match the crushing 10% inflation rate and out of control cost of living. Equity starts with our most vulnerable and underserved constituents.
