Music venue debuts own line of vodka
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - With an eye toward originality, the music venue and bistro Hey Nonny has worked with a local distillery to introduce a private-label brand of vodka.
The Nonny Vodka is now available at the Arlington Heights business.
"We've done a lot of testing and had some of our loyal patrons in on the project," said co-owner Chip Brooks. "We think we have identified just the right process and so far, most who have tried it agree."
Brooks said the process led to a small family-owned distillery in the area that produced the right product and was good to work with.
The new vodka is made from corn and is distilled in a sophisticated eight-column medical grade still. Once distilled, it is filtered, or "polished," 12 times through four different materials - a proprietary process that Brooks and team say makes it one of the smoothest vodkas on the market.
Nonny Vodka is now available at Hey Nonny, 10 S. Vail Ave.
