Do You Have a Veteran Interred at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington?

For the fourth consecutive year, the members of Signal Hill, NSDAR will be partnering with Wreaths Across America to honor Veterans interred at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington. A memorial ceremony and wreath laying will take place at noon on Saturday, December 17, 2022.

In 2021, more than 2.4 million Veterans' wreaths were placed by volunteers on headstones at 3,137 participating locations around the country in honor of the service and sacrifices made for our freedoms, with each name said out loud. At Evergreen, 735 Veterans were identified, and wreaths were placed on their gravesites at the local ceremony.

You may confirm that your Veteran relative buried there is included in this remembrance by contacting a Signal Hill member at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/ILEGCA

You may choose to sponsor a wreath specifically for your relative on the same website for only $15. Grave-specific donors are offered early access to the Cemetery grounds for private moments with their departed relatives or friends.

You may also volunteer to place wreaths on gravesites on December 17, by registering at the above-listed website.

Wreaths Across America REMEMBERS the fallen, HONORS those that serve and their families, and TEACHES the next generation about the value of freedom. These goals dovetail into NSDAR's commitment to Patriotism, Historic Preservation, and Education. Together, we all FIND A WAY TO SERVE.
