Pedestrian struck in crosswalk in Arlington Heights

A 35-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle Thursday night while crossing Palatine Road in Arlington Heights, police said.

The victim was walking south to north in the crosswalk about 7:15 p.m. when a 33-year-old woman driving north on Schoenbeck Road turned left into the local lanes of westbound Palatine Road and struck her, police said.

The victim was taken to Northwest Community Hospital with minor injuries. Police said the driver was issued a citation for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
