Letter: How can we say we're a nation of laws?

After watching the Jan. 6 committee these past few weeks I am left with one burning question: How can we call the U.S. a "country of laws" or claim that justice is blind or even that all people get equal treatment under the law if we arrest the people who took over the Capitol and send them to jail but the person who sent them there and the people who conspired with him to overthrow our government are walking free and are looking to get reelected?
