Letter: Any religion can, and should, fear God
I read an opinion by Jan Nafis on your opinion page Friday, July 22. She states that maybe it's time to change your motto: "Our aim: To fear God, tell the truth and make money." She states that in the diverse country, people don't follow the Capital G Christian God.
I have never thought that God was only a Christian idea. If the motto said fear Jesus Christ, then, yes, it is the Christian God. I do believe most religions have a God. Even the American Heritage Dictionary does not specify the use of God as Christian.
Maybe if people feared their God, whatever their religion, we would have less trouble in the world.
