Join a ride under the stars at Busse Woods Night Ride Aug. 27

The Friends of Cycling in Elk Grove, in partnership with the Forest Preserves of Cook County, will hold the 2022 Busse Woods Night Ride on Saturday, Aug. 27, at Busse Woods in Elk Grove Village.

It will be 6 to 11 p.m. at the Busse Lake Boating Center on East Higgins Road.

On every other night of the year, the forest preserve closes at dusk, but on this bike ride, the fun starts at sunset.

Groups of bicycle riders will be lead around the Busse Woods trail to experience all of the hoots, howls and beauty the forest preserve has to offer when the gates are closed to the public.

After your bike ride, enjoy live music from The Dill Spears, refreshments, raffle prizes, bonfires, s'mores and more.

Food for purchase will be available from Inches Tacos.

All paid attendees, age 21 or older, will receive two drink tickets for beer from a local brewery or wine from Wine with Me.

Learn more about the event and purchase tickets by visiting egvbikes.org/busse-woods-night-ride. Online fees apply.

Tickets for the Extended Wave, a 12-mile ride through Busse Wood, is $40 for adults, 21 or older.

Tickets for the Regular Wave, a nine-mile ride, are $35 for adults or $15 for age 12 to 20.

Tickets for spectators are $15 for adults, age 21 or older, which includes two drink tickets, s'mores, bonfires, and live entertainment; or $5 for ages 5 to 20, which includes s'mores, bonfires, and live entertainment. It is free for those under age 5.

All proceeds from this event will be used to promote the many benefits of cycling for recreation and transportation in Elk Grove Village and the Northwest suburbs.

The Friends of Cycling in Elk Grove is a group of dedicated cycling advocates and enthusiasts from Elk Grove Village and the surrounding area that simply want people to ride bikes more often - to school, to work, for errands, for exercise and for enjoyment.
