Letter: On polling place locations
Regarding the letter published by Eric Martin, "Don't allow voting at religious institutions": The first thought I have is he was looking around the church to observe his surroundings.
I voted in the high school gymnasium and didn't even notice if there was a basketball hoop. I walked in, checked to see my precinct and voted. I believe that Martin could have done the same.
There is no law stating where a polling place must be located. In fact, in the past, especially in the cowboy days, voting was held in saloons - liquor and all. I don't believe anyone was offended.
