Lake County revises projected water, sewer rates

Projected water and sewer rate increases for those on Lake County systems have been reduced to 3% in light of high inflation.

The Lake County Board this week revised the ordinance establishing water and sewer user rates for the 2023 fiscal year beginning Dec. 1. The projected increase had included a Consumer Price Index factor with no cap. The current CPI is about 8.6%.

Based on that and recent federal COVID relief funding, the public works department recommended modifying the projected rate increase to 3%. Retail and wholesale customers will be notified.
