St. Charles to hold blood drive July 29

The City of St. Charles is hosting a blood drive from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 29, at Fire Station #1.

Donors should go to the lower level of the station at 112 N. Riverside Ave. Park on the north side of city hall and follow the signs.

The event is organized by Versiti Blood Center of Illinois. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments can be made at their website to ensure a quicker experience.

According to the American Red Cross, someone in the U.S. needs blood every 2 seconds. Blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer.
