Colton Gumino transfers to Hersey High School

Colton Gumino, one of the top 2025 QBs in Illinois, will be playing his sophomore football season on the varsity team at Hersey High School. Gumino has three power five offers from Oregon, Iowa State, and Kansas, he also has interests from Notre Dame, Iowa, Purdue and Ohio State. Gumino has been training with Coach Christensen at Throw It Deep since he was 6, and is well prepared to take the helm at Hersey Football as their signal caller.

Coach Christensen has also coached Jimmy Garoppolo, who played at Rolling Meadows another District 214 school.

This is Coach Nelson's first season as head coach and has a track record of producing great quarterbacks.

"I think the next 3 seasons with Gumino at QB will be a great start. I am looking forward to watching Hersey Football this season and watching Gumino grow into the leader of this team."

Hersey's season starts against New Trier away on Aug. 25, this 8A school will be a great test for Hersey.
