Two Aurora churches hold joint outdoor service

New England Congregational Church and Our Savior Lutheran Church, neighbor churches on Aurora's west side, held a joint outdoor worship service on Sunday, July 3.

The Rev. Julie Grafe, pastor at Our Savior Lutheran Church, and Rev. Brandon Perrine, pastor at New England Congregational Church, led the all-ages worship service in green space at New England Congregational's playground.

Rev. Perrine preached on "Immune to Snakebites."

The service featured a children's time, communion and a new liturgy designed to bring the two congregations together in worship.

Music was provided by pianist Andrew Maya.

Homemade strawberry shortcake and coffee was served after the service.
