Fischer Farm sold to Bensenville Park District

DuPage County Forest Preserve District commissioners unanimously voted Tuesday to sell Bensenville's historic Fischer Farm to the Bensenville Park District for $100,000.

The park district has been operating the 5-acre property under a 25-year lease since 2000. The forest preserve has owned the property along Old Grand Avenue at Fischer Woods Forest Preserve since in 1999.

The sale comes with a conservation easement with contractual development restrictions to ensure that Fischer Farm remains a historic farmstead into perpetuity.
