Letter: Trevor is the honest choice for County Board

In his most recent mail piece, Sam Kukadia is spewing lies against Maggie Trevor in the Democratic primary for Cook County Board in the 9th District. Kukadia claims Trevor wants to tax your retirement income if elected. That's an outright lie.

First, Cook County does not have and will not have an income tax - only the state can levy income taxes in Illinois. Second, Kukadia doesn't even attempt to attribute a source to these claims. A casual look at Trevor's website, Facebook page and public remarks show nothing close to Kukadia's claims, because of course they don't. They're lies.

So what's the truth? Trevor is advocating for more efficient use of our tax dollars, not tax increases. She's also fighting for safer communities and improving health care - two vital needs in Cook County. Kukadia can't be trusted to send an honest mail piece. How can we trust him on the County Board? Trevor is the best candidate for the job.
