Letter: Election administrators are under attack

We have seen many states passing legislation targeting election administrators with restrictions on how they can help voters, making felonies out of simple human mistakes, and even giving partisan actors control over election work instead of keeping everything totally neutral. And we now are seeing candidates running for local offices on platforms challenging how our elections are run.

Let's not let these things happen in Kane County. The county has done a tremendous job in running free and fair elections during a pandemic. They have made investments in equipment that allow them to quickly process in-person and mail ballots, with full transparency.

The county clerk is happy to provide tours of their facility and explain how elections are handled. I've taken one of their tours, and as an experienced election judge, I am very impressed with the professionalism and non-partisan approach present.

The current county administration deserves our support.

Let's not allow those who follow the big lie about our 2020 election to damage the excellent election administration system we have in Kane County.
