Fresenius Kabi conforms with RFID inventory system

LAKE ZURICH - Fresenius Kabi said its growing portfolio of radio frequency-tagged medications is now compatible with AmerisourceBergen's medication inventory system.

AmerisourceBergen is a global health care company and one of the largest pharmaceutical distributors in the United States. AmerisourceBergen's medication tray system is designed to help hospitals improve medication inventory visibility and tracking using advanced Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology.

"There is tremendous value in embracing technology advancements such as RFID in health care," said Angie Lindsey, vice president of marketing at Fresenius Kabi USA, based in Lake Zurich. "RFID technology allows hospitals to better store and track medications, and that's important for patient safety."

Fresenius Kabi specializes in medicines and technologies for infusion, transfusion and clinical nutrition. The company's products and services are used to help care for critically and chronically ill patients.
