Letter: Humans in a barrel?

That is what we are when it comes to semi-automatic weapons, little chance of survival. Animals have more rights than us, since it would be unlawful for AR-15's or AK-47's to be used to hunt deer or other game. Teenagers in the streets are better armed than our police force. Republicans keep avoiding the source of the problem, namely semi-automatic guns. Their solution is to arm our teachers.

When the Second Amendment was written in 1791, the only guns were muskets. It's about time to update the amendment based on today's weaponry. We are not at war, so why are these weapons still being manufactured?

If these guns didn't exist, we wouldn't be burying our children instead of our parents. Nobody is trying to take away your right to hunt or protect yourself, if you are not a soldier at war, you have no right to possess these weapons.

Right now it's open season on humans.
