Batavia ceremony to feature groundbreaking for Flag Day monument

The Fox Valley Patriotic Organization and the Batavia Flag Day Committee will be putting on a special Flag Day on Tuesday, June 14, with a groundbreaking ceremony for a planned Flag Day monument.

The festivities begin with some patriotic arrangements by the Batavia Community Band at 5:45 p.m. on the riverwalk at 151 N. Island Ave. The program from 6 to 7 p.m. will include turning the first shovels of dirt for the monument.
