Elgin's Holy Trinity Church serves the community through neighborhood ministries
At Holy Trinity, neighborhood church happens seven days per week.
As a church three blocks from the heart of the downtown Elgin, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church thrives in the middle of a very busy neighborhood.
The church offers Summer Lunch to neighborhood youth under 18 years of age from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 1 to Aug. 12.
Another summer feature is a Water Ministry that has been offering cold bottled water for 8 years and an emergency outdoor food pantry that is open 24/7. Neighbors both leave food and take food.
Community Breakfast is offered the first and third Sunday of each month.
Further community services include Crisis Center on Mondays and Saturdays; AA on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays; Kiwanis Golden K on Wednesdays; Grief Support Group monthly; Toastmasters on alternate Thursdays; and Soup Kettle on Sundays, Thursdays and Fridays.
