Letter: People need to see the carnage
It is not "Murder She Wrote." It's not one bullet hole through the chest with a little red blood. It is a flurry of bullets and little bodies blasted apart. Skulls shattered, brains and abdomens blown open, entrails everywhere - walls, windows, blackboards, and on everyone around. Gore everywhere.
Too horrible for us to see? We are conveniently spared the picture of what really happened. The horror is easier for us to accept if we just imagine 19 neat bullet holes in those innocent child victims. Sandy Hook, Parkland High, Uvalde Robb, etc.
Military Assault Rifles, M-16 Type, were against the law until our brave legislators allowed a sunset provision to let the law lapse, and these weapons became legal.
Show us photos of the aftermaths. Sandy Hook, Parkland High, Robb Elementary. Show us the damage these rifles actually cause, and the public may finally demand these weapons of mass destruction finally be banned. Nothing else has worked.
