Who is working for us?

We are all experiencing hardships with the price of gas, and inflation. Many people blame the president for this, but he has little control over gas prices. Gas prices are based on supply and demand.

During the height of the pandemic, oil companies scaled back production because there were fewer people traveling. Check out the profits made the first quarter of this year. Shell made a $9.1 billion profit, BP Amoco made $6.2 billion and ExxonMobil made $5.5 billion.

There are over 9,000 drilling permits available in the United States. None of these companies are taking advantage of that. Maybe because if they did that, they and their stockholders wouldn't profit as much.

Ask yourself what your elected officials are doing about that. Here is what they are doing. On May 19, a bill was passed in the House of Representatives to crack down on gas price gouging. Not a single Republican voted for that.

Another current issue is the baby formula shortage. There were 192 Republicans who voted against a bill to address the baby formula shortage. These are the people who are supposed to be working for us? Seems to be just the opposite.

Remember this when you go to vote in November, and in 2024.
