Sheriff's office mourns former jail officer

The Lake County sheriff's office announced Thursday night that former corrections officer Juan Diaz has died from an illness that led to his retirement.

Diaz served in the sheriff's office for 31 years.

"We will miss you more than you know, Juan," the sheriff's office said in a social media post. "Thank you so much for your dedication, commitment and always positive vibes that you provided Lake County."
