Geneva teen identified as train crash victim
The Geneva teenager who died Tuesday after being struck by a Metra train on the Union Pacific West Line has been identified.
Caitlin Marie Gallagher, 17, was found unconscious and not breathing on the train tracks near Crissey Avenue in Geneva at 7:04 a.m. Paramedics were unable to revive her.
The Kane County coroner's office determined her preliminary cause of death was from “multiple injuries due to a train mishap,” according to a news release.
The case remains under investigation.
