Illinois Tollway awards nearly $31.5 million in contracts

DOWNERS GROVE - Suburban contractors were among the companies awarded work Thursday totaling nearly $31.5 million by the Illinois Tollway board of directors.

Nearly $195.8 million in contracts has been approved by the Tollway board in 2022 as part of the 11th year of its 15-year, $14 billion Move Illinois capital program. May projects awarded include:

• A $12.9 million contract to Aldridge Electric Inc., Libertyville, for an active traffic management system and intelligent transportation system device and fiber installation on the Tri-State Tollway between Wolf Road and Balmoral Avenue.

• A $3.3 million contract to HBM Engineering Group, Hillside, for pavement and structural preservation and rehabilitation on Route 390 Tollway between Lake Street and I-290.
