Lombard awarded certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting
For the 35th consecutive year, the Village of Lombard has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association for its fiscal year 2020 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by the village.
"Receiving this honor for the 35th consecutive year is a testament to our staff's hard work and commitment to excellence," said Tim Sexton, finance director. "The finance department takes great pride in ensuring that the village's finances meet the highest level of excellence, accountability and transparency."
The award recognizes municipalities that meet or exceed national standards for financial reporting. These standards include demonstrating a spirit of full disclosure and motivating potential users to read the report.
