Letter: It's important Illinois toots its own horn
Your editorial on May 3 was indeed heartening to read. Over the past five years, Illinois has seen a 200-percent increase in business startups. More than 1,800 Illinois companies are active in the electric auto market. Sounds like Intersect Illinois, a public-private partnership formed to bring new business to our state, is doing its job well.
Let's encourage Illinois government to get behind Intersect Illinois with dollars, deeds, speeches, ribbon cuttings and praise. My stomach churns when I hear Easterners call the Midwest flyover land.
Balderdash! As my mother always said, if you don't toot your own horn nobody else will.
