Letter: Roe draft makes women second-class citizens

The recent leak of the majority draft opinion concerning the abortion rights case before the Supreme Court brings many thoughts to the surface. A man (Trump) who stated it's OK to walk up to a woman and grab her by her reproductive organs, who has appointed a large number of judges to federal courts, is about to take possession of those reproductive organs, and succeed in reminding women just who they really are - second-class citizens.

Not only is it OK for someone like him to grab a woman's genitals, it's OK to restrict her choice with her genitals. And if a man rapes her and she becomes pregnant, it's her misfortune, responsibility and blessing. Because life is precious. Not the woman's life, but "life."

Somehow, her life is not equal to life itself.

Is it irony that we are on the verge of this decision to exercise power over women, or clear-eyed mockery?
